Sharks le Chéile (sharks together) was set up to connect scientists studying elasmobranchs (sharks, skates and rays) in Ireland with the public.
We are a small team of researchers, headquartered at Trinity College Dublin and collaborating institutions around Ireland. We work in partnership with government agencies, including the Marine Insitute (Foras na Mara) and Inland Fisheries Ireland (Iascach Intíre Éireann).
However, we are an independent group of researchers, and are not governed by any state agency.
The core aim of our work is to bring science to the public and vice versa.
